Introduction
Most "best dessert" lists are somebody's opinion. This one is a count. We read 103,794 written Google reviews across restaurants and cafés in Jeddah and asked a simple question of each business: how many of your reviewers actually talk about the dessert? Not the ambiance, not the parking — the cake, the kunafa, the ice cream, the waffle. The places below are the ones Jeddah keeps mentioning by their sweets.
Why rank by desserts at all? Because unlike many topics, desserts are something people bring up when they are happy. Across our whole database, the 14,390 reviews that mention desserts average 4.28 stars — above the overall corpus average of 4.148. A topic that people raise in praise can be ranked without accidentally surfacing the worst performers. That is not true of every topic, and it is why we chose this one.
How we ranked
For every restaurant and café in Jeddah we counted the reviews whose text mentions a dessert term in Arabic or English. A business had to reach at least five such mentions to qualify, which 220 of 404 did. We then ranked by the number of dessert mentions — a measure of how much a place is known for its sweets — and we show, next to each, the average rating of those dessert-mentioning reviews so you can see sentiment alongside volume. We deliberately did not invent a "dessert score"; the ranking is mentions, plainly.

Reading the table
Two things stand out. First, this is a café story: almost every name in the top ten is a café rather than a full restaurant, which fits how Jeddah talks — dessert and coffee travel together. Second, mention volume and rating are not the same thing. CLE CAFE is discussed for dessert more than anywhere else in the city, yet its dessert-mention average of 4.14 is more modest than كويز كافيه | Queeze Coffee at 4.60. A place can be famous for its sweets and still divide opinion. Read both columns together.
We are not claiming these are objectively the best-tasting desserts in Jeddah — taste is not something a database can settle, and we do not pretend to be more accurate than the people who ate there. What the table shows is where the conversation concentrates, and how warmly those particular reviews land.
Honest caveats
A mention is a keyword match, not a guarantee the review praised the dessert — most do, given the topic's 4.28-star average, but not all. Volume also favours busy, heavily reviewed places, so a small gem with a short history can be under-counted here. And because cafés dominate dessert talk, strong dessert restaurants may sit just outside this particular top ten. Treat the list as a well-evidenced starting point, not a final verdict.
Why cafés own dessert in Jeddah
It is worth pausing on why the top ten is almost entirely cafés. In Jeddah, dessert is rarely the end of a meal reviewers write about — it is the reason for the outing itself. People go out specifically for cake, for a matcha and a slice, for a late-evening sweet with friends, and the venue they choose for that is a café, not a restaurant where dessert is an afterthought on a long menu. So when we count who gets talked about for sweets, cafés rise to the top not because their desserts are necessarily better, but because dessert is their headline act. A restaurant can serve a superb kunafa and still rarely be reviewed for it, simply because diners came for the main course and mentioned that instead.
This also explains the range of averages you see in the table. A café built around dessert lives and dies by it, so its sweet-related reviews swing both ways — delight when it works, sharp disappointment when it does not. That is why some of the most-mentioned names carry mid-range dessert averages: high expectations are simply harder to meet, and a place famous for one signature item collects complaints whenever that item is off.
How to use this list
Read it as a shortlist, then do the last step yourself. Start with a place whose dessert-mention count is high and whose dessert-mention average is also strong — that combination means many people came for the sweets and most left happy. If you have a specific craving, open the profile and read the recent reviews, because a café can be brilliant at one thing and ordinary at another, and the average hides that. And do not ignore the smaller names sitting just outside the ten; a newer spot with fewer reviews can be excellent and simply under-counted by a method that rewards volume. The numbers point you to the door; walking in is still your call.
