How We Rank

Raddod doesn't simply sort hotels by their star rating and call it a day. We use a Bayesian scoring model that balances a property's average rating against the volume and recency of its reviews. A hotel with a 4.9 from 12 reviews will rank lower than one with a 4.8 from 2,000 reviews — because statistical confidence matters. This approach protects you from inflated scores at small, newer properties and rewards consistent excellence over time. You can read the full details on our methodology page.

Each month, the model is re-run from scratch using fresh Google review data, which means rankings genuinely shift as guest sentiment changes. A hotel that slips in service quality will drop in the rankings; one that improves will rise. It keeps every property on the list honest — and it keeps this guide useful rather than just decorative. What Visitors Said

Across the 37,726 reviews we analyzed, a few themes kept coming up in ways that are worth highlighting for anyone planning a stay in Riyadh.

At Mövenpick Hotel and Residences, one guest attended a Novartis pharmaceutical conference and described the hotel as wonderfully organized and calm from the moment they walked in. What impressed them most wasn't just the venue — it was that restaurant staff and chefs took time to explain how each dish was prepared, turning a standard conference dinner into something genuinely memorable.

At Amber Hospitality Al Qairawan, an Arabic-speaking reviewer described feeling so comfortable in the apartment that they almost couldn't wait until checkout to leave their review — posting it on arrival day because they were already that impressed. They praised the quiet, tidy atmosphere, the welcoming hospitality, and prices they described as very reasonable — adding a heartfelt prayer for blessings on the property's business.

At W Riyadh — KAFD, a reviewer addressed specific team members by name and described feeling genuinely proud to witness such a high level of professionalism and elegance. They noted that the hotel's "exceptional service and refined hotel language" reflected exactly what they'd expect from a world-class team — and then told those staff members they deserved ten stars rather than five.

Tips for Choosing

• Match the location to your itinerary. KAFD hotels like Kimpton and W Riyadh are ideal if your meetings or events are in the financial district. The Diplomatic Quarter properties — Radisson Blu and Vivienda — offer a calmer, greener neighborhood that's great for families and longer stays.
• Review count matters as much as rating. A 4.8 from 16,000 reviews (Mövenpick) is statistically more reliable than a 4.9 from 50 reviews. Our Bayesian model accounts for this, but it's good to keep in mind when you're comparing options personally.
• Consider apartment-style if you're traveling as a family. Properties like Amber Hospitality and Mövenpick Residences offer significantly more space and a home-like feel that hotels with standard rooms simply can't match for groups of four or more.
• Pay attention to what reviewers say about individual staff. When multiple reviews name the same team member for exceptional service, that's a signal of a genuinely well-managed property — not just a lucky week. It's one of the strongest indicators of consistent hospitality you'll find in guest feedback.

FAQ

How often is this ranking updated?

The ranking is refreshed monthly using new Google review data. Each update re-runs the Bayesian scoring model from scratch, so the positions you see here reflect October 2026 sentiment. Check the live rankings page for the latest snapshot.

How many hotels were considered for this list?

We started with a peer group of 190 hotels in Riyadh that had at least one rating. All 190 met our minimum threshold of 50 reviews, making them eligible for ranking. The top 10 you see here are the highest-scoring properties from that qualified pool.

Can a hotel pay to appear on the list or improve its rank?

No. Rankings are determined entirely by the Bayesian scoring model applied to organic Google reviews. No business can purchase a higher position. The algorithm doesn't know — or care — whether a property has a profile on Raddod or not. Read more on our methodology page.

What if I want to see hotels in a specific neighborhood or price range?

The full live rankings page lets you filter and explore beyond the top 10. You can browse all 190 qualified hotels and sort by rating, review count, or neighborhood to find the property that fits your specific needs.
