This is our list of the best cafes to study and work in Jeddah for August 2026, ranked in a way that differs from the usual "highest rated" lists. The question we answer is not "which place has the higher overall score?" but "which place did visitors actually talk about for quiet, wifi, and studying?" That difference matters: an overall Google rating blends everything together — location, service, price, even silent star taps — while we read the text of written reviews and looked specifically for people who discussed quiet, wifi, and studying.
Our method is simple and transparent. We took every written review in our database for a Jeddah business in this category, searched its text for words related to the theme (quiet, wifi, study, work), counted how many reviews mentioned it per business, and computed the average star rating of those mentioning reviews alone. The ranking below is built on mention count, not on the overall star average. A place written about by dozens of people for its quiet, wifi, and studying outranks a higher-scored place nobody mentioned it for.
How we built this ranking
Out of 100 public cafes in Jeddah in our database, only 67 qualified — the bar was mentioning quiet, wifi, and studying in at least 5 written reviews, so that no place is ranked on one or two stray comments. We then took the top ten by mention count. For each business we show four honest numbers: how many reviews mentioned the theme, the average stars of those reviews, the overall Google rating, and how many written reviews we hold for it in the first place — so you can judge how solid the evidence is.

The limits of this method — honestly
- We searched the text of written reviews for words related to the theme (quiet, wifi, study, work).
- We rank by how many people actually discussed quiet, wifi, and studying, not by the overall rating of the business.
- A cafe with 40 reviews mentioning quiet and studying is a better answer than one with a higher overall rating and no mentions of the work atmosphere.
- Word matching is imperfect. A review mentioning "quiet" might mean the place felt too empty, not cozy. That is why we show the average rating of the mentioning reviews next to the count, so you can see whether the talk was praise or complaint.
- We required at least 5 mentions to qualify. Of 100 businesses in this category in Jeddah, only 67 qualified.
Why rank by mentions, not by the star average?
Because an average answers a general question: "are people broadly happy?" But you are asking a specific one: "where do I find quiet, wifi, and studying?" A place rated 4.9 for its excellent coffee may not be your best choice if nobody discussed quiet, wifi, and studying there. Conversely, a place with a 4.1 overall rating that dozens wrote about specifically for quiet, wifi, and studying is usually the more honest answer to your question.
To be clear: we do not claim to be more accurate than Google, nor that our numbers override theirs. We measure something different — how densely a single theme is discussed inside written reviews — and we present every figure exactly as it is, without polishing. That is why you will see places on the list with a lower mention average; we kept them because honesty means showing the negative signal alongside the positive.
